What Adventurers Eat After Slaying Demons
Soft and chewy blue cookies stuffed with chocolate chips, crushed chocolate chip cookies, and Oreos pieces.

I love baking for my son’s Dungeons & Dragons crew. I think of myself as a medieval barkeep creating potions and exotic baked goods for wandering travelers. I mostly stay out of their way as they slay monsters, but I live for that moment when they walk in the door and see the treats I’ve made for the day’s adventure.
Since they are already in a magical mindset, I can make whatever I want too. Purple cookies? Sure! Rainbow conchas? Why not. Blue cookies stuffed with pieces of other cookies? Totally acceptable.
And that’s where these cookies come in. Made with butterfly pea powder and stuffed with chocolate chip cookie + Oreo cookie pieces, they’re just the sort of thing you’d find in a magical tavern.
I made the cookies for the group last spring when they were getting ready to battle a big bad, and by the time the adventure was done, not a crumb was left. Soft, chewy and brilliantly blue, these are just the sort of thing an adventurer would keep in their bag of holding for a post demon-slaying snack.
