Caramel Brûlée Latte
Treat yourself to a warm, decadent sip made with caramel sauce, vanilla, and brown sugar.
Making Starbucks copycat drinks is a little magical, a little devious, and a lot delicious. I started making them in grad school and these days the tradition continues. Mostly on principle, but also because the nearest Starbucks is 20 minutes away — and I’m way too lazy to drive there. 🙃
This caramel brûlée latte is something I’ve been making for more than a decade. We’ll use store-bought caramel syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, and milk to create a quick base for our latte. Then all you have to do is pour in brewed coffee. Finish it all off with whipped cream and more caramel on top. Start to finish the whole process takes about 5 minutes. #worthit
No fancy ingredients or special equipment is required. As I mentioned in my cinnamon dolce latte recipe, I don’t have an espresso machine and refuse to buy one so we’re going to “cheat” and make a morning treat with regular coffee. I know that doesn’t make this technically a latte, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
As written, this recipe makes one 16-oz serving or two smaller 8-oz servings. It goes wonderfully with mantecadas (shown above), Chocolate Earthquake cookies, and Can’t Make Up My Mind cookies.
And if you have trouble sleeping tonight, check out my Nana’s recipe for leche de sueños (good dreams milk). See? I’ve got you covered for whatever tonight brings, with both an upper and a downer recipe! Never say I’m not here for you.
