My nephew – who is almost like my own kid! – starts high school next week, too! I offered to walk him, but he flatly declined (right after wrestling the horrified look from his face.)

I can picture that look, having seeing it many times myself! If you really want to get a look you should ask him things in Gen Z/ Gen Alpha slang. :D

Or talk to him about music 😆

Definitely putting the book about death in my TBR list. It’s a subject I think about daily. 😬Yesss to TOG rereads! Honestly even better than ACOTAR which I wouldn’t have believed, but here we are. 🤷🏽‍♀️ Idc what anyone says, “Emily in Paris” is so entertaining!! I don’t want it to be realistic! I want the drama, the color, the love triangle TENSION!!! I’ve been waiting for this weekend to binge watch it. CANNOT. WAIT. 😍 Do you ever listen to Maksim Mrvica? He’s an incredible pianist you may like also. 🎶 And finally…”an old lady to remember” is pretty much my favorite phrase of the week. Bravo! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

I highly recommend the book about death. So fascinating to learn about how various cultures encounter death and how DIFFERENT it is from the US. If you DM me I can also recommend some great books from when I took my Death Doula courses, if you're interested in this topic.

Emily in Paris is super fun, I must admit. I think it's more innocent than Sex and the City, but still reminds me of it. If you like tension, gurrrrl, buckle up. Haha.

I have not heard of Maksim Mrvica but I'm off to look him up now!

What have you NOT done!?!? You’re such a renaissance woman! I can definitely see how Emily in Paris is like SATC’s innocent little sister! Can’t wait!

Your beautiful words about the bittersweet nature of motherhood touched me deeply this morning. "having a child is like watching your heart walk around outside your body" - this is so true. Nothing in my life has given me more joy or more pain than being a mother.

Thank you Rebecca. I remember a note you posted a while back that talked about your own son. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever read.

High school seemed to go the faster than any other stage of my kids’ childhood - not something any mom wants to hear. But it was also one of the funnest times and with great memories! It sounds like you have a good perspective on it and just know that each stage brings new and wonderful things to enjoy with your son.
